TMS Solution Helps ULS Realize their Growth Strategy

After implementation, ULS consistently outperformed previous production records, increased profitability and reduced training time and costs by 80%.

Unisource Worldwide is a multi-billion dollar distributor of printing paper, packaging equipment and facility maintenance supplies. Unisource launched ULS, a logistics division, in 2008 and a truckload brokerage division in 2011. The truckload division has increased revenue 100% each year since its inception.

Although ULS was achieving significant growth, management believed that to continue its momentum, a shift to a more efficient workflow was necessary. At the time, the truckload team was comprised of account managers that would handle every step in the logistics process to the settlement stage.

Productivity could be streamlined by establishing teams of specialists that would plan & execute tasks more efficiently. ULS collaborated with MercuryGate to implement a TMS that matched their vision for growth.
